One of the most prominent manifestations of karamat (spiritual grace) in mystical texts is healing through sacred words. By “sacred words” is meant any speech, phrase, or text whose sanctity derives from its connection with the divine or the sacred, including verses of the Qur’an, prayers, invocations, psalms, religious hymns, or ritual chants. This study, with an emphasis on the role of spirituality in the healing process, demonstrates that sacred words in mystical writings are recognized not only as instruments of supplication but also as forces of healing and life-giving power. Its aim is to classify and analyze the spiritual dimensions of this type of healing and to trace its historical background through library sources.The phenomenon is realized in four main forms: reciting and listening to the Qur’an, performing ritual prayers (salat), reciting supplications (du‘a), and repeating invocations (dhikr). In mystical accounts, these forms of healing appear in two modes: permanent and temporary. In the permanent mode, illness is completely removed from the patient; whereas in the temporary mode, the saintly figure regains health only for a limited time, sufficient to perform religious obligations.
An examination of the frequency of these methods shows that healing through prayer and supplication occurs most often, while healing through ritual prayer has the lowest frequency.
