Characters are considered an important element of the narrative in a novel or a narrative work. This element, in addition to the structural aspect, is also responsible for a large part of the ideological burden of the story in terms of thematization. Van Leeuwen, in his theory of discourse analysis, has linked the element of character and the discourse of the work and talked about the representation and non-representation of actors and its relationship with the discourse of the work. Based on this theory, this article aims to analyze the famous novel "Mut Saghir" by Mohammad Hassan Alwan, which has also received the famous Arab Booker Prize, based on this theory. A character-oriented novel that deals with the life of "Ibn Arabi" in the form of a novel mixed with the author's imagination and reality. In his mystical journey and in his travels to achieve his mystical goals and objectives, Ibn Arabi has encountered various characters, and the narrator of the story, according to the historical tone of the work and the impact of each of the personality types in The formation of the discourse has focused on their representation by relying on different methods of elimination and expression. This article aims to investigate how the characters are represented and reflected in the novel.
