This work has long been considered by scholars and has been explored from different perspectives. One of the issues that has a special position in Mowlana's thought is the issue of gender and homogeneity in his works, especially in Masnavi. ‘Gender’ or ‘attractiveness of gender’ is a category in which Rumi manifests the whole being and, from his point of view, in all manifestations of creation, including human relations, the tendency of mankind to the prophets and divine religions, as well as the tendency of human beings to faith, evil, goodness, friendship, hostility, love, hatred that are ongoing. It is worth mentioning that the discussion of gender in the works of poets and writers, of the followers and the late Mowlana has also been considered to be important, but its various uses and effects have been abundant and diverse in the spiritual and other works of Mowlavi. First, the viewpoint of the mystics must be presented and explained, then, Molavi's ideas should be recognized and categorized. Therefore, examples of gender issue are mentioned in the writings of some of the writers before Rumi, and then the various dimensions and effects of this category are examined and analyzed in Masnavi. مثنوی مولوی دربردارندة اندیشه‌های متعالی و داستان‌های حکمت‌آمیز و اندیشمندانه است. اندیشمندان از دیرباز به این اثر توجه داشته و دربارة آن پژوهش کرده‌اند؛. درنتیجه این اثر از چشم‌اندازهای مختلف شرح و بررسی شده است. بحث جنسیت و سنخیت یکی از مباحثی است که در اندیشة مولانا جایگاه خاصی دارد و در آثار او به‌‌ویژه در مثنوی بسیار نمود یافته است. جنسیت یا جاذبة جنسیت موضوعی است که مولانا همة هستی را جلوگاه آن می‌داند و از دیدگاه او در همة مظاهر آفرینش اعم از روابط انسانی، گرایش بشر به پیامبران و ادیان الهی و همچنین تمایل انسان‌ها به کفر، ایمان، بدی، خوبی، دوستی،‌ دشمنی، عشق، نفرت‌ها جاری است. گفتنی است بحث جنسیت در آثار شاعران و نویسندگان دیگر، از متقدمان و متأخران مولانا، نیز مهم بوده است؛ اما کاربرد و جلوه‌های مختلف آن در مثنوی معنوی و دیگر آثار مولانا متنوع‌تر و بسیار است. ابتدا دیدگاه متصوفه در این زمینه بازنمایی و تبیین خواهد شد و سپس اندیشه‌های مولوی در این باره شناخته و دسته‌بندی می‌شود. بنابراین نگارندگان مثال‌هایی از بحث جنسیت در آثار برخی از نویسندگان پیش از مولانا را ذکر می‌کنند و سپس جنبه‌ها و جلوه‌های گوناگون این موضوع در مثنوی معنوی بررسی و تحلیل می‌شود.
