The two, along with each other's evolution and spiritual exaltation, as well as the unique reputation they have found in this way, by publishing and describing the works and thoughts of each other, added to the excellence, glory and reputation of Islamic literature and mysticism. Although many scholars have studied their similarities and commonalities, there are differences and even contradictions in their way of life and their behavior. The present research has been developed to prove this claim. In this study, we tried to check the Shams and Molavi’s differences and contrasts with a comparative method. We showed their personality contrasts and differences, different aspects of their life, the style of training, speech and behavior. Based on this study, we could understand the reasons behind these differences and contrasts in their opinion and behavior to justify their positions, states, and articles. The present research has been categorized and presented in three sections including: 1) the differences or contrasts in the individual and social life; 2) moral and personality contrasts; and 3) mystical contradictions and differences.  شمس و مولوی دو شخصیت بزرگ عرفانی ـ ادبی، تأثیر ژرفی بر یکدیگر گذاشته‌اند. آن دو موجب تکامل و رشد روحی و سلوکی یکدیگر شدند و از این راه شهرت و پذیرش بی‌مانندی یافتند. شمس و مولانا با نشر و شرح آثار و افکار همدیگر به پیشرفت و تکامل و شکوه و شهرت ادبیات و عرفان ایرانی ـ اسلامی نیز افزودند. بسیاری از پژوهشگران به تشابهات و نکات اشتراک ایشان پرداخته‌اند؛ اما در شیوة زندگی و نوع و روش سلوک آنها تفاوت‌ها و حتی تضادهایی دیده می‌شود که این پژوهش برای اثبات بخشی از این ادعا تهیه و تدوین شده است.<br /> در این جستار کوشش می‌شود تا تضادها و تفاوت‌های شمس و مولوی با رویکردی تطبیقی بررسی شود و تفاوت‌ها یا تضادهای شخصیتی این دو از جنبه‌های مختلف زندگی و نوع پرورش، گفتار و رفتار بیان شود. درنتیجة این بررسی علل و عوامل تفاوت یا تضادهای فکری و سلوکی شمس و مولانا، ازنظر حالات و مقامات و مقالات آشکار می‌گردد.<br /> برای تبیین تفاوت‌ها و تضادهای مولانا و شمس در نوع زندگی و معاش و نوع اخلاق و رفتار و گفتار و نیز نوع سلوک و مقام عرفانی، این مقاله در سه بخش دسته‌بندی و تبیین شده است: بخش اول: تفاوت‌ها یا تضادها در زندگی فردی و اجتماعی؛ بخش دوم: تفاوت یا تضادهای اخلاقی و شخصیتی؛ بخش سوم: تفاوت یا تضادهای سلوکی و عرفانی. https://jpll.ui.ac.ir/article_22195_028c535c9a91a9ffee3b685be9144229.pdf
