Gathering the data of this study, two types of sources were used: mystical and non-mystical. For non-mystical sources, the historical-mythical books, dictionaries, lexicons and general as well as specialized encyclopedias and, for mystical sources, a selection of prominent mystical texts belonging to different periods of literary history (from fourth to fourteen centuries A.H) were considered. Then, using descriptive-analytic method and based on Leonard Bloomfield's theory of "semantic changes", various semantic functions of "Qaf" in the mystical context were investigated. The main question of this study is whether the mythical features of "Qaf" in the field of mysticism have remained intact or they have been exposed to semantic changes in the course of time. The results of this study show that many mythical features of "Qaf" have transferred to mystical sources keeping their original form. Also, the semantic aspect of "Qaf" and its functions in early mystical texts tends to mythical narratives and as we reach later periods, the notions related to it become more abstract; i.e. it leaves the mythical form and takes a mystical one. اسطوره قاف از بن­مایه­های پرکاربرد در تاریخ ادبیات فارسی و به ویژه سروده­های عرفانی است؛ بنابراین بررسی سیر تحول کارکردهای معنایی آن موجب خواهد شد تا خوانندگان آثار عرفانی به درک و دریافت روشنی از این اسطوره در حوزه عرفان دست یابند. برای گردآوری داده­های تحقیق حاضر، دو دسته از منابع، مبنای کار قرار داده شده­است: منابع غیر عرفانی و متون عرفانی. در بخش منابع غیر عرفانی، کتاب­های تاریخی-اسطوره­ای، لغت­نامه­ها، فرهنگ­ها و دانشنامه­های عمومی و تخصصی و در بخش منابع عرفانی، گزیده­ای از متون برجسته عرفانی دوره­های مختلف تاریخ ادبیات (قرن چهارم تا چهاردهم هـ.ق) مورد نظر بوده است؛ سپس به شیوه توصیفی-تحلیلی و بر اساس نظریه «تغییرات معنایی» لئونارد بلومفیلد، به بررسی انواع کارکردهای معنایی قاف در بافت عرفانی پرداخته شده­است. پرسش اصلی مقاله این است که آیا ویژگی­های اساطیری قاف در حوزه عرفان دست­نخورده باقی مانده است یا تغییرات معنایی دیگری را نیز در گذر زمان پذیرفته­است؟ نتایج نشان می‌دهد ‌بسیاری از ویژگی­های اساطیری قاف با همان شکل اولیه به منابع عرفانی تسری یافته­اند؛ همچنین وجه معنایی قاف و کارکردهای آن در متون اولیه عرفانی، به جانب روایت های اساطیری متمایل است و هر چه به دوره­های بعدی می­رسیم، مفاهیم مرتبط با آن، انتزاعی­تر می‌شود؛ یعنی قاف از شکل اسطوره­ای خارج می­شود و هیأتی عرفانی می­یابد. https://jpll.ui.ac.ir/article_20883_46e7ed301a7c5723a9a0eca37ac8c998.pdf
