The main issue of this paper is to study Muslim mystics’ commentaries and interpretations of this seal and its connection with the most important mystical themes across the first and second mystical traditions. Looking at how early mystics like Hallaj has considered this seal, it is observed that, first, they have paid attention to description of the form of this seal and, with the appearance of Ibn Arabi, such descriptions were substituted with interpretations, and the theory of Unity of Being paved the way for proposing the most significant mystical teachings such as Ascending and Descending arcs and Divine Presences. In the middle eras of Sufism, great figures such as Sa’d al-Din Hamuyeh, Ibn Arabi and Ibn Tarkeh Isfahani specified the status of the Perfect Man the Seal in monotheism by drawing the circles of monotheism and writing independent works in this field. In late centuries, Jalal al-Din Muhammad Majd a-Ashraf, one of the mystics of Zahabieh Kabravieh, provided a commentary of Mohr-e Nabovat by using the very foundations and the aid of revelation and intuition. The mystics’ cosmological interpretation of this matter and its relation with the seal of prophethood are amongst the most important findings of this paper.
