Throughout the ages and by resorting to the immense power of their imagination, many artists tried to either recreate the ancient mythology or to conform it to the current needs and conditions of their time. In order to meet the cultural challenges of their time, contemporary Iranian poets have also shown great interest in the recreation and the reproduction of myths in their works. One of these contemporary poets is Dr Shafi'ee Kadkani; a prominent Iranian poet who has appropriately reconstructed ancient Iranian myths. He has also created some modern myths on chiefly mystical and historical figures. The present work makes an attempt to demonstrate how Kadkani’s mostly humanistic mental and intellectual background contri­buted to a transformation of the functions of old mythological stories into the creation of modern myths. گرچه از عصرجهان‌بینی اسطوره‌ای یعنی عصری که انسان می‌خواست با نیروی خیال و به زبان اسطوره، خود و جهان را تبیین کند، قرن‌ها گذشته است؛ اما انسان هرگز نتوانسته است، از جاذبة جادویی اسطوره بی‌نیاز بماند. هنرآفرینان همواره با انطباق اساطیر کهن با شرایط موجود به باززایی و نوسازی آن دست یازیده و از نیروی عظیم خیالی آن بهره گرفته‌اند. در عصر حاضر شاعران معاصر شعر فارسی به اقتضای فکر و فرهنگ خویش به بازتولید و خلق اسطوره‌ها روی آورده‌اند. شفیعی کدکنی از جمله­ شاعران بزرگ معاصر است که هم اسطوره‌های کهن با تغییر ساختار و کارکرد و هم اسطوره‌های نوساخته از شخصیت‌ها‌ی تاریخی ِغالباً عرفانی، فراوان در شعرش دیده می‌شود. در این مقاله تلاش شده است تا نشان داده شود که چگونه زمینه‌های ذهنی و فکری شاعر، که مبتنی بر ذهنیت اومانیستی است، منجر به تغییر ساختار و کارکرد اسطوره‌های پیشینی و خلق اسطوره‌های تازه شده است. https://jpll.ui.ac.ir/article_16371_dccf2ac09e8366a91094cc0f15852e20.pdf
