Hence, an antagonist struggles with the hero either because of the sensual motives or as a result of the will to reduce his power and qualities. <br />This article mainly focuses on the investigation of antagonist in the Iran national epics. It will be clarified that regarding the "types", the figure of an antagonist, could be classified into human, animal, natural and supernatural one whereas, regarding the "role" and "performance" of the hero, it could be categorized as principal, consultant, commander, combatant, tempter, assistant, allied, guide, formal, enamoured and instrumental one. (The features as well as the subcategories and definition of each of the categories are given along with examples.) مقاله حاضر به منظور بررسی چهره ضد قهرمانان در حماسه‌های ملّی ایران، به شیوه کتابخانه‌ای نوشته شده است و یافته‌های پژوهش به شکل توصیفی و تحلیلی ارائه شده‌اند. آنچه در حماسه‌های ایرانی حایز اهمیّت فراوان است، جدال دو نیروی خیر و شرّ است. قهرمانان تجلّیگاه همه صفات و خصایل پسندیده هستند و ضد قهرمانان جلوه‌گاه صفات و ویژگیهای اهریمنی؛ از این رو ضد قهرمانان گاه با انگیزه های نفسانی، و گاه به منظور کاستن قدرت، توانایی و شایستگی قهرمانان، با آنها درگیر می‌شوند. این گفتار به بررسی ضد قهرمانان درحماسه های ملّی ایرانیان اختصاص یافته، از نظر «نوع» آنها را در چهار دسته اصلی: انسانی، حیوانی، طبیعی و ماوراء طبیعی جای داده و از نظر «کنش» و نقشی که در متن وقایع به عهده دارند، در یازده دسته: اصلی، مشاور، سپهدار، جدالگر، اغواگر، یاریگر، متّحد، راهنما، صوری، عاشق و ابزاری طبقه‌بندی نموده است. سپس ویژگیها، زیر مجموعه‌ها و تعاریف هر دسته با مصداقهای آن ارائه شده است. https://jpll.ui.ac.ir/article_16276_5d43f4fb4f29ab9272c07c69b080168d.pdf
